CAIMAN LODGE AMAZONIE Cayman lodge Amazonie"is a private project, created to protect the ecology and the environment with harmony and comfort. The beauty of the nature of this place forced it to be visited y lived;, all this recycled to safeguard the nature the most possible.

iLOCATION “Cayman lodge Amazonie”is found at 2:30 hours of navigation from Puerto Maldonado, This city is located in the junction of Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers, this is a privileged place to visit the Amazonie.

THE LODGES.- A drawing room, a dinner room, typical rooms, a kitchen, a deposit and a room with hammocks that constituted the “Cayman Lodge Amazonie”.

The lodges were built with typical wood with big slits protected by mosquito nets, the cealings made with palm leafs. These facilities are in harmony with the jungle and they will allow you to experiment a unforgettable dream. The electricity, the candles, lamps that work with kerosene are used to create a romantic and natural atmosphere.

A power generator is used (just in the meals), to ensure the maintain of the batteries that are used in the radio and in the preparation of the food.

The lodges have matrimonial rooms with tree individual rooms, two double beds, a bathroom, and room temperature water.

The drawing room can change into a conference room. Decorated with geographic cards that will allow you to know better the amozonie. All the infrastructure is surrounded by a botanic garden very attractive.

THE EXCURSIONS :Our excursions are guided and organized for your security, we offer you the most protection possible. The lakes Sachavacayoc and Condenado in the bank of the river Tambopata, these are included in the 30 km-trip.

THE NATURALISTIC GUIDES: The naturalistic guides live in this place and they are part of the family. They are always available to make you discover the wonders of the tropical jungle, the amozonie. THE MEALS:The meals are prepared by our chefs with typical products: some of them are Peruvian chefs, vegetarians and others are international chefs.

THE WAYS OF TRANSPORTATION: The transports used in the river are bots with engine, covered and equipped with comfortable cushions and life jackets (for your security). These bots are directed by qualified professionals that have a in-depth knowledge about the rivers and the wild life.

OPTIONS: We offer you basic packets that can be modified according your wishes. The main packets last 3 to 4 days. Packets that last more than 5 days, 7 to 10 days might organize your accommodation according your convenience.

ADDITIONAL DAYS

These days can be organized in function of your preferences and your interests. During these days, you could walk in treks that you haven't visited yet. All the meals are included during these days.

Furthermore, the packets mencioned in the top of page, is possible to have a number of additional days that is wanted en the Collpa 1 of Chuncho. During these days, you could come with a guide or not, that is according with your preferences and your interests. During these days, you might explore the whole trek sets in a better way or visit the lakes again or accompany other groups.

SOME SUGGESTIONS TO PREPARE YOUR ACCOMODATIOS IN CAYMAN LODGE AMAZONIE

LUGGAGE: We recommend you to take an small backpack with the basic equipment for your accommodation in the lodges.
The main equipment can be leaved in the office of Puerto Maldonado.

WARDROBE: You will have to be lightly dressed, with cotton clothes, short pants, shirts with long shirtleeves, hats, boots or trainers.
(We provide boots but in limited number).
T-shirts with light colors, shorts, sandals, delicated socks are recomended to walk in the surrounding of the lodges. You should take some raincoats for the treks in the morning by boat in the rivers and special clothes for the rain or raincoats, swimming costumes and swimming trunks.

PERSONAL EFFECTS: sun screen, a hand lantern with batteries, spotlights to substitute if it's required, a water can, a water bottle, personal medicaments, sun glasses, binoculars, passport and repellent.

Bring additional articles for the ones who want to visit the Collpa 1 or 2: towel and swimming clothes, a plastic bag to protect your stuffs from the humidity, and cameras.

TIPS: If you want to give tips to the employees, just if you want. A tip box for the employees and the guides is located in the dinner room.

THE WEATHER: we have a very changing weather. We never know when it's going to rain, but after the rain, the wild life seems to born again.
The driest season of the year is from June to November, and the most humidity season is from December to May. The animals can be watched all the year. They often come to drink and feed in the banks of the river Tambopata.

LIFE INSURANCE: You must have a life insurance that could cover accidents, the evacuation to your country, thefts, and luggage thefts.
We suggest you to bring a copy of your life insurance, the contract number, and the telephone number of your life insurances supplier.
In case of accidents, or sicknesses, or another problem not-cover for the life insurance, the expenses will be paid for you.

IMPORTANT ADVICES: Even thought we have some equipment, you must have for the treks in the jungle, the next stuffs:

• Your backpack, a water can, plastic bags, a lantern...
• medicaments and repellent
• your personal stuffs with:
• tex cloth long pans
• shirts with long shirtleeves
• hats, caps and others
• delicated socks, short and long socks
• boots, and rain boots
• raincoat, warm jackets in case of weather dangers, the trips in the river or in the lake
• bloqueador solar, lentes de sol
• A light sleeping bag.

PERSONAL INFORMATION: to obtain the sailing permission for the boat that will go to the "Cayman lodge Amazonie", the authorities of the Peruvian Marine request personal and detailed information about the passengers: names, last names, nationalities, passport code, age. This information must be proportionated 24 hours before the departure. We will ask you that after the acceptance of your reservation, you would give us this information with the aim of establishing your safe - conduct.

DRINKS: A bar supplied with sodas, beers, wines, water bottles, are available wthn an additional cost. Coffee, tea, cookies, are free and available.

PHOTOGRAPHS: We recommend you to use special films: 400 ASA or more to take pictures in the jungle. The light in the jungle is poor, specially in the sunset. One normal film is for example a 100 ASA film that can be used in the outskirt of the jungle, on the rivers and lakes. You must protect your luggage from the humidity with a waterproof bag.

The birds and monkeys are very actived around the guesthouse, they will come to ask for some fruit.
