COLPA DE LOS ARES 5D/4N

Schedule: MCL 05 Collpa de los Aras 2

1st day.- Flight to Puerto Maldonado and the trip to “Cayman Lodge Amazonie”.

After arriving in the morning to Puerto Maldonado, you will be welcome by your guide at the airport and you will be taken to the main port and begin a trip to the lodges, we will travel along Tambopata River for two hours approximately. During the trip, the vegetation will change, the primary jungle will turn into the secondary jungle.



At your arrival, you will be given a welcome cocktail and you will meet the stuff. You will have a short visit to the lodges. Lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a trek in the jungle around “Cayman Lodge Amazonie”, surrounded by the “castaños” of Brazil. The mammals that are seen frequently are monkeys “tamarindos”, capuchinos, rodents like: añujes or agutíes, pacas or Cuba snakes, the blue butterflies, toucans, and many kinds of birds. After having dinner, a night excursion to search some animals and insects whose special feature is to have bright eyes. Overnight at your lodges.    

2 day.- TRIP TO COLLPA DE LOS ARAS 2.-Alter having breakfast early in the morning, you Hill come back by boat to keep traveling in the river for 4:30 hours to Tambopata National Reserve where you will find the most important collpa of the area. After having lunch, your guide will take you to explore the road chain and you will camp in the shore near to the collpa. An appropriate equipment to camp will be prepared. Dinner. At night in that place.

3rd day A DAY IN THE COLLPA 2.-
We recommend you to wake up early to have breakfast so you could arrive to the collpa before the birds will do and attend a magic spectacle at its arrival. Birds come to the collpa to search an special clay that has salts and minerals. On average, thousands of parrots, from aras, visit the collpa every day. Some of them are red, blue, yellow, green, its frontal part is brown, with a blue head, this collpa is considered one of the biggest in the entire world. Viajes Tambopata, Selva Manu, Selva Peru.

Then and still in the morning, we will have a long trip over the paths in search of 9 species of monkeys that live in the region: monkey-spider, monkey-squirrel, titi as well as tapir, capybara, pecarí and the jaguar. After having lunch, we will have a trip by canoe in the river in order to discover an small river with clean water where you might take a bath. This place is located in the central part pf the jungle. Dinner. You will camp in the shore near to the Collpa.

4th day.-Return to Cayman Lodge and a long trip in the shores of the lake. This is another chance to watch the wonders of the nature in the Collpa. Then you will come back to “Cayman Lodge Amazonie”. Lunch. Then you will head to the shores of Condenado Lake where you will see a completely different ecosystem. This ecosystem was created and it has been changing for thousands of years with the change of the river course. Viajes Tambopata, Selva Manu, Selva Peru.
It has many kinds of aquatic plants and birds like: the heron, the garzota, the jacanes, a pre-historic bird called shansho who a particular sound and very loud, danocobios. Return to the lodges. Dinner. At night you will go in search of caimans, from capybaras and you will be rocked by the symphony of the jungle. Spend the night at the jungle.

5th day DEPARTURE.- We recommend you to wake up early to have breakfast and begin the return trip to Puerto Maldonado. You will have a wonderful visit to the sunrise over Tambopata River. The animal life and specifically the titís and the monkeys “aulladores” that are heard frequently in the morning, they will accompany you to the port. Until the last minute the guide will be in charge of all your needs that you may have at the airport. Have a nice trip.
