First Day.
Cusco – Mollepata by bus, the trek will start in the town of Mollepata that is located in the valley of the Apurimac, alter three hours of trekking will set up camp near the irrigation Canals.
Second Day.
The glacier of Humantay ( 5917 meter m.s.l.) the mountains surround us during the whole five hours of excurtion until reaching the zone of Soray, here the valley becomes much wider and one can appreciate the glacier of Salkantay, the camping will be about one hour from Soraypamapa.
Third Day. A hard trip of about tour hours until reaching the pass of Inka Chiriasca ( 4,880 meters m.s.l.) here we can see in the rocky landscape lives the Andean condor, the landscape is the same until reaching the valley of Pampacahuana about four hours from where we’ll set up our base camp.
Fourth Day. By the morning will appreciate how the valley starts to get narrower and the river becomes a canal, after approximately three hours of trekking heading downhill until reaching the fortress of Inkaracay just a half an hour from Huayllabamba, here we’ll set up camp.
Fifth Day. After having breakfast, the hardest part of the trek we’ll start, there is and uphill that is very rocky, after three hours of trekking we’ll reach the first pass called Warmiwañusca (dead woman) at 4,200 meters m.s.l. approximately, here one can enjoy the great panoramic views of the entire area, and have also the satisfaction in reaching the top. After having lunch we’ll head downhill to Pacaymayo to set up camp and have dinner.
Sixth Day.After having breakfast we’ll start to head downhill until reaching the second most important pass of our journey at 3,800 meters m.s.l. here we’ll appreciate a guided tour of the archealogical complex of Runku Rakay and the citadel of Sayacmarca. Then we’ll continue our trek until reaching Phuya Patamarka ( town in the clouds), another important archealogical monument, here we’ll rest and have some lunch, after a short rest, the trekking will start until reaching Wiñay Huayna(always young), here we’ll have a guided visit to this magnificent archealogical remain, that has a unique location. We’ll have dinner and set up camp
Seventh day.
After having breakfast, we’ll trek for about one hour through the Forrest until raching the Inti Punku (gateway of the Sun), known as the entrance to Machupicchu, from here one has an impressive panoramic view of the citadel.
Upon arriving to Mahupicchu, then we’ll have a guided tour, visiting the most important sites such as: the main square, the temple of three windows, the solar watch, the condor temple, and the cemeteries. We’ll have free time to stroll around the citadel to then meet the rest of the group and transport by to Aguas Calientes to have lunch (not included). In the afternoon we’ll return to cusco by train, when we arrive to Cusco transport to the selected hotel.
