The mountain chain of the Andes is the most important one in the American Continent and one of the biggest in the world. AUSANGATE this mountain isa t 6372 meters, one can appreciate this glacier from Cusco, the average temperature is of 11º-13º and by night time can come down from 4º to 10º in the months of June and July. The entire trek starts at an altitude of 3.800 to 4.500.
Here you can appreciate the flora and fauna of this place and also see the diversity of wild animals. We’ll go through the hacienda Huchuy Pinaya where we’ll be able to enjoy hot springs.
FRIST DAY: CUSCO-TINQUI
The trip will last all day; we will stop in all the traditional markets in the towns of Urcos, and Ccatca.
SECOND DAY: UPIS-AZULCCOCHA
Breakfast and start trekking until we reach the first pass at 4.500 meters, and then we’ll continue heading to the bottom of the Ausangate to the camp site of Azulccocha, in the way we’ll see different lagoons with many colors without leaving behind the llamas y alpacas.
THIRD DAY: AZULCCOCHA – HACIENDA FINAYA
The trek on this day is very hard, because we’ll go over two passes one at 5,000 meters and the other one at 5,200 meters, from the Palomani pass we start to descend until we reach the camp site.
FOURTH DAY: HACIENDA FINAYA- COMERCCOCHA
Continuing with our trek, we can see the Natural Reserve Area of Huallatas and other animals that are common in this area, on this day the other pass will be at 5,100 meters.
FIFTH DAY: COMERCCOCHA -PHAQCHANTA
The trek for this day will be much easier, seeing a whole bunch of Vizcachas and we’ll arrive early to the camp site to enjoy the hot springs and the awesome pachamanca..
SIXTH DAY: PHAQCHANTA TINQUI CUSCO
Trekking for about three hours and then will have lunch and we’ll board the bus to return to Cusco.
